I have been out of biking circles for MANY years, and was considering popping along to this for a day on my 56 MAC Velo. The rate things are going, it would be a couple of years before I could come on my Cotton Rudge.
Anyhow, I looked on the Festival website, and didnt find enough info about the event. I feel I'm in the dark. There should be more info for those who have never been. I could probably find it if I searched harder!
I'm not so interested in the racing aspect, but would like to see and talk old bikes. I couldnt glean the difference between the 2 days ... whats the best day to go. How good/big will the autojumble be? Anyhow, If I do come, I will certainly seek out the Cotton stall

Hi John C,
Sorry for the delay in responding to your post 27 July.
The Saturday is for road bikes in various classes and will cover a wide range of ages and capabilities. (both bike and rider capabilities)
The Sunday is for Racing machines, again all sorts of ages and speeds!
Each day the track sessions are about 20 minutes long and nominally run from 9am to 5pm.
On Saturday there is a trial, last year 11.00 to 15.30 held around various bits on the outfield.
On Sunday there is a sprint demo along the finishing straight form 13.00 to 14.00. (Obviously the track sessions are suspended at this time.)
The avenue of clubs is on the outside of the circuit and the Cotton Owners Club will have a small presence there, a chance to relax, meet old friends and talk about bikes - including our earliest bike on display, a 1924 model.
Auto jumble can be a bit variable depending what the dates clash with, not a mega jumble but usually some interesting bit and bobs and complete bikes.
Hope this helps, we're there both days so drop by the Cotton tent and say hello.
Best regards
Bob Smith

Many thanks Bob, That is helpful, BUT having now found out that my Velo has a very weak spark, it looks very unlikely that I will manage to come. I have checked everything thoroughly on the mag, and think I need to delve into re-magnatising and capacitor issues.
I would MUCH rather have come on the Cotton, so maybe I should set myself a deadline for next year!!!
