Hi Brian,
I have sent off to DVLA to first register my Cotton Experts. I am not sure if Paul can help with the official Dating certification as DVLA require an approved registrar and checking their list the Club is not listed.
I have used a guy who listed under the BSA Bantam riders club ( as the list includes other British bikes ) he charges £50 for certification or £70 for the full package which only requires your signatures and insurance cover proof to accompany the package he returns to you. DVLA require £55 for their service, at the moment its been two weeks and no response from DVLA but i am expecting a long delay as they are not fully staffed.
I will re post when there is any news, hope Paul can help if not here is the contact for Terrence Lane- Smith

The DVLA reduced the number of accepted dating (?) authorities some time ago. I have been in discussion recently with the Two Stroke Owners Club and they offer an effective service. Here is a link for information. btsc2t.weebly.com/dating.html. It is my understanding that a certificate of insurance is not now required.

good info there Chris, although i was requested to send an insurance cover note with the application, i thought i had my Cotton insured on just frame number only but they will only cover for 30 days at a time with a cover note.

That's great news. Always a degree of uncertainty when dealing with DVLA.

That IS good news! Have you been following the thread "frame number and year" in Post War Cottons? I wondered if, with your recent experience of DVLA, you might have some information that could help out there .... ?
