My neighbour has a 1960 Vulcan that is about three quarters complete. It has been in his family for many years after his father inherited it from his best friend. Sadly I do not own a Cotton but I have restored quite a few other bikes, so have agreed to try and restore his Vulcan. I get the pleasure of restoring it whilst he buys the parts! So be warned quite a few questions coming up. As an aside in the late fifties a friend and I ventured to Italy, me on my 225 cc Francis Barnett and he on his 250 cc Cotton twin. He was much faster than I was so he frequently dropped back and then screamed by in a cloud of blue smoke. His bike was SFH 22. Is it still around?

I note SFH 22 is not on the DVLA website and does not appear on the VMCC list either. Could still be out there though! Paul

Cotton members always happy to help. We would however like a progress report, with photographs, old and new. Sounds like there is an historic story that would be suitable for our magazine “Cotton Pickins “. Good luck!

Hi Maurice. Good luck with the Vulcan rebuild. Sounds like an interesting project. As Wells is just down the road from the Shepton Mallet show ground, come and see us on the Cotton club stand at the Bristol Bike Show.
