Paul Sheppard noticed my rear sprocket was rather big so I counted the teeth (56) and worked out the gear ratios and he was right. Must have been for grass track! I needed 48 or so for the 250. Thoughts of blank plate wheels, re-toothing etc but Paul pointed out that Alan Freke had used a Kawasaki sprocket! Armed with the correct pitch code from Paul I found a 47 tooth sprocket with a small enough (still a bit big) centre hole for £20 delivered. Filled the holes with MIG wire with a bit of copper sheet behind and re-drilled using old sprocket as a guide. Might benefit from a locating ring to to locate on the hub but I have a spacer I'd made to get the alignment right and I tacked that onto the new sprocket. Also a couple of roll pins that I added to locate sprocket on the spacer although the screws probably do OK. Attachments:
