If you want to chat about pre-war Cottons I'm listening! If you have a JAP 350 piston, diameter 68mm, gudgeon diameter 15mm, I would dearly like to speak with you as the crown of my piston parted company with the rest of the piston yesterday!

New piston supplied by Paul Powell. Still on standard bore after 86 years and all done in time to attend another excellent AGM/ Rally in Gloucester. 40 mile round trip didn't miss beat.

Dear Sir. I've recently buy an old Cotton motorcycle. The motorcycle is equipped with an OHV 500cc Jap engine. The serial number stamped on the engine is the following:K0/D 36249S*. The questions regarding this motorcycle that i want made is the following: 1)Wich is the model of this motorcycle 2) wich is the year of consyruction 3) where i cthe workshop manual of the motorcycle and the Engine? i tried to search in internet without sucess Thanks a lot for your support

Further to the information above. The brochures are available from this site. Click on website at the top of the page. Then click on technical. Try the 1938 brochure. The manual of the J A P engine is available as a book or in digital form on e bay or Amazon. Ask again if you have difficulty finding any of my suggested ideas. Paul S

Looks in good condition. I would suggest it was made around the mid 1930s. It looks like it has an age related registration ( old Scottish series) If you have the original registration number it could probably be dated more accurately and reveal the County of registration.
