I"m just starting the process of restoring my barn find cotton. I'll get with Paul to see if he has the parts I need. I already got the new decals. It needs a lot of refinishing and an engine rebuild.
Couple of questions though.
In my reading, it seems that the frame was originally 'Cambridge Blue' but the only examples I find online are silver? Mine has a light blue frame.
Is the tank also cambridge blue or something different. Mine does not look to be the same color as the frame (but who knows what was done to it over 50 years).
Thanks!

HI greg, Early Cotton 170's were cambridge blue frame with a light blue tank but not matching the frame. silver frames came out mid 71 I think. Do you have a photo of you bike as could tell you more from a photo?

Matt, According to Paul, it is a 1971 enduro model serial number 40. It appears to be original paint on the frame. A light blue. It is missing the seat and chain guard. Fenders have been replaced. It needs some attention Thanks greg minarellimatt Attachments:

Hi Greg, That sounds about right to me as later 1971 went to silver frames. I have one the same as yours blue frame and that style of finish on the tank which I have not seen very often. It would of had a large duel seat, I will try and upload some pics of mine for you.

Matt, thank you, some pictures would be really appreciated. That and the chain guard are the only two pieces that it doesn't have. Needs a lot of work though.

Things are moving slowly. Had to get a new seat made based on pics people sent me (appreciate it!). Found the people who bought Metal Profiles when it closed and got some new 675 Telefork parts. Frame stripped, got a decent color match for frame (will paint later). Working on wheels and finishing suspension next. Should have all of the engine parts I need. Hopefully things will pick up speed with the weather improving.
